Bovejo
Type: Homemade cooking / Delivery
Let me start with my personal daily lunch provider! If you feel like staying in for lunch, Bovejo is a lunch delivery company managed by two young entrepreneurs who also happen to be my neighbors.

They always have a light (huge salad with a protein) and homemade meal options. Their flavor is really good and it only costs 13 soles ($4)!

If you wanna give it a try, let me know so I can forward you their daily menu (cash only).

Bembos
Type: Peruvian / Fast-food
Bembos is our own fast-food chain! Just a few blocks away. Burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches and more are on the menu.
I have to say these are not your regular fast-food burgers. And the best part... they're as big as advertised.

Personal recommendation: Bembos a lo Pobre (with fried egg and plantain) or Caesar's Chicken Sandwich.

Pardos Chicken
Type: Peruvian / Casual
If we had to translate what Pardos Chicken serves, we would have to say rotisserie chicken... but it would be more like rotisserie chicken made in heaven.

We call it Pollo a la Brasa, a type of food so popular in Peru it even has its own national day, and there are thousands of Pollo a la Brasa spots throughout the country. Trust me, it's not like any chicken you've tried before.

Pardos is the fancier Pollo a la Brasa chain, but not expensive at all. You definitely won't regret it!

Sarcletti
Type: Peruvian / Casual
So, Sarcletti is a lot of things in one place. A breakfast spot, ice cream shop, café and restaurant... so you'll definitely find something good here! You can get from pizza to peruvian dishes, sandwiches, pancakes... you name it!

Personal recommendation: Lomo Saltado (peruvian dish), Pastel de Choclo (corn cake (?))... and definitely an ice cream!

La Antojería
Type: Peruvian / Casual
"Antojo" is "craving" in spanish, so the Antojería is the place for cravings. Here you'll find different Peruvian sandwiches and home-style cooking. It's popular for lunch!

Personal recommendation: Sánguche de Chicharrón (pork sandwich) and tamales!

** On a side note... why do all the pictures above so far feature french fries? (that was a question for myself, I guess we really like them). Did you know that Peruvian places make french fries with yellow potatoes? It's very different and tasty.

Also, did you know: potatoes (every kind there is) are originally from Perú? We have more than 3,000 varieties here! The variety used for french fries worldwide was taken to Europe by the Spaniards, and we call it "papa blanca" (white potato)... that sounded like a race thing, but it's not!
Type: Casual
Chancho 051
This one's for all the pork lovers! Chancho 051 serves everything from ribs, chorizos, bbq's and our traditional chicharrón de chancho (pictured), which comes served so you can make your own "sandwich de chicharrón" with pork, onion salad and sweet potato! Does it sound weird? Probably, but it's AWESOME.

Personal recommendation: It's pretty obvious.

Chili's
Type: Casual
Up for some tex-mex food and/or margaritas? Then look no further.

Chili's offers a great deal of sandwiches, tex-mex inspired dishes and drinks. It's great for casual gatherings, as you may know if you have them back home.

Personal recommendation: Anything deep-fried (yeah, I said it).

Type: Fast-food

If you're a fried chicken enthusiast, then KFC is always a no-brainer.

Personal recommendation: anything that comes inside a bucket! <3

KFC
Type: Fast-food

You've probably heard of this one too... it's pretty much the same as everywhere else!

Good 'ol pizza... sometimes you just need it!

Pizza Hut
Did you know: Chili's, Pizza Hut, KFC, Burger King and Starbucks are all owned by the same company in Perú? (which is why wherever you see any of them here, you'll probably see ALL of them). Boy, they must love healthy food!
