with or without a peruvian twist

Makoto
This one also serves the traditional dishes... but it also has a lot of Peruvian-Japanese fusion dishes that will blow your mind! Very much recommended.
Personal recommendation: Tiradito Nikkei (a peruvian seafood dish, similar to sashimi cuts mixed with ceviche and Japanese flavors (pictured).

KO Asian Kitchen
This restaurant actually mixes many Asian cuisines, including: Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Thai!
So if you're feeling like having a bit of every corner in Asia, this is the place! It's inside Real Plaza Salaverry Mall.

Edo Sushi Bar
This is my go-to place for sushi in Lima. It's got a great variety of maki rolls fused with peruvian flavors... it's like nothing you've tasted before!
Personal recommendation: Maki Roll Acevichado (with a ceviche sauce) (pictured).

A bit further away...
Hanzo
This is one of the more upscale Japanese restaurants... and is sure recommended!
You'll find traditional Japanese dishes as well as new creations fused with Peruvian cuisine.

Wasabi
This place is by the same owners of Hanzo, but it's much more casual. It's perfect if you're into all you can eat sushi! There's only one fixed price, an it's all the maki rolls, yakimeshi and soft drinks you want. The atmosphere is also great, very animé-inspired.
Be careful with over-ordering rolls, their policy is that if you leave anything in your plate they will charge 2 soles per piece!

DonDoh
A Japanese Grill! Great innovative dishes and cool atmosphere in the heart of San Isidro. Do give it a try if you can!
Personal recommendation: Black Burger (with kyuri relish and spicy mayo) (pictured).
