il buon mangiare
La Bodega de la Trattoría
La Bodega is the casual version of the famous La Trattoría di Mambrino in Miraflores. La Bodega is run buy the owner's wife, Sandra Plevisani, who is Perú's most acclaimed pastry chef and also hosts a pastry show in Movistar Plus channel, in case you ever run into it while zapping.
So yes, the menu is mostly traditional Italian... and as you would expect, the desserts are amazing!
Personal recommendation: the cheesecake flavor of the season, and "Profiteroles"!

Antica
Antica is a very nice Italian place too. It's dimmed lights make a very nice ambiance. They have a large variety of freshly baked forno-style pizza and artisanal pasta. It's delicious!
Personal recommendation: Canelloni ripieti de ricotta e spinaci (filled wit ricotta cheese and spinach), and Lasagna 4 formaggi (gorgonzola cheese, emmental, mozarella and parmigianno)

San Ceferino
This is probably one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Perú that's still in business... and it's just a couple blocks away!
Their menu is ENDLESS. You can probably pick anything from Italian cuisine, and also lots of Peruvian dishes, especially with amazonian fish, which is not very common in the capital! Recommended 100%.
Personal recommendation: Ravioli filled with duck magret in seco a la norteña sauce (pictured)

Spizza
A more casual and traditional pizzeria. Great selection of artisanal pizzas with thin crust and a mediterranean flare!
Personal recommendation: Pizza Spagnola (tomato, mozarella, Spanish chorizo, rosemary).
Reservations: (511) 222-2228

Gioconda
This is one of the newest restaurants in the area. I haven't tried it myself but heard good things!
If you do give it a try, let me know!
